Give a compliment.
THE LOWDOWN
Like with previous boosters, it is essential that you make an effort not to fake this one, remember that it is the intention what really counts. Intention counts, big time. This practice involves thinking less about yourself, reframing how you see other people, encouraging them and generating an atmosphere that benefits everyone.
During this week look at others, discover their natural goodness and tell them!
WHY IS IT GOOD?
Studies show that complimenting people can be a powerful tool to motivate others to feel and perform better, but the real benefits come from the fact that making an effort to see the good in others, effectively trains your brain to be more positive, compensating for our species’ negativity bias and making you physically and mentally more resilient.
SOME IDEAS
Compliments don’t have to be necessarily on appearance, these are other examples if you want to go for something juicier:
“That’s a great idea!”
“That was very kind of you.”
“I love how enthusiastic you are about...”
“That brownie was spectacular! You’re a great cook!”
“You’re a great listener.”
“You are very knowledgeable about this topic. Next time I need more info about jellyfish reproductive cycle I’ll know who to ask!”
EXTRA BROWNIE POINTS
Find something good about someone you find difficult and tell them!
Enjoy spotting the beauty in others!
